Overview

RarityScanner ("we", "the app") turns your camera into a rarity lens. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have. In short: we process your photos to produce AI appraisals, we keep a public gallery of scans, and we use standard analytics. We do not sell personal data.

What We Collect

• Photos you scan. When you scan an item, the photo is compressed on your device, uploaded to our cloud storage, and analyzed by our AI vision service to produce the rarity appraisal. Scanned photos and their appraisals are displayed in the shared community gallery.
• Scan records. The appraisal results (item name, category, rarity verdict, world rank) are stored in our database and shown in the gallery, on discovery cards, and in discovery clubs.
• Sign-in identifiers. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your account name, email address, and profile photo via Firebase Authentication to personalize your profile. We never see your password.
• Usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the app is used (e.g., screen views, feature usage) and to improve it.

How We Use Data

• To generate AI rarity appraisals of the photos you scan (app functionality).
• To operate the shared gallery, collections, and discovery clubs (app functionality).
• To keep you signed in and personalize your profile (app functionality).
• To measure usage and improve the product (analytics).

Community Content & Reporting

Scans are shared publicly by design. If you believe any scan or content in the gallery is objectionable, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate, report it from the discovery club screen ("Report this content") or email support@rarityscanner.app. We review reports and remove content that violates our standards.

Data Retention & Deletion

Scan records and photos are retained while the service is active. To request deletion of your scans or account data, email support@rarityscanner.app with the scan ID (visible on each discovery card) or your sign-in email, and we will delete the associated records.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at support@rarityscanner.app and we will respond promptly.
